Getting Started:
(printable version)
- Register early for online courses to allow time for important mailing instructions on course access.
- Required: You MUST use your myDCC username and password to login to your online courses. The login information is included in the letter mailed to all online students. The packet is mailed to your address listed on your registration form. If you have registered and not received the mailed instructions, please contact the DCC Help Desk at 1-866-334-9179.
- Identify which learning management system your course will use (SLN Classic or ANGEL) by clicking on this table of Summer 08 SLN Online Courses.
- Once you know the learning management system, you will access your course by clicking on either the SLN Classic or the ANGEL link in the Online Learning section of the My Courses tab in myDCC.
IMPORTANT:
SLN Classic -
You will be using a unique username and password for SLN Classic that is different than myDCC. In order to create your account, log in to myDCC and click on the "My Courses" tab. On the left side of the screen you will find a link to SLN Classic. Click on that link, click on Students, then click on the link that says “Create an Account” under the login area. Follow the directions carefully! If you have an account and don’t see your course, you need to request it be added to your account. You need to log into your account, proceed to the "Commons" area, and click the link that says "Select/Change Course Access." Follow the directions carefully and your course should be added to your account within 24 hours. If you need assistance during any step of the process, contact the SLN HelpDesk at: 1-800-875-6269.
ANGEL - You can immediately access your ANGEL course once you have logged into myDCC by clicking on the ANGEL link in the My Courses section.
- REMEMBER: Your Summer Semester course will open 1 week before the start of the semester. It is very important to access your course during that week and complete any orientation and icebreaker exercises that your instructor has developed. Use that week to familiarize yourself with the online course management technology so you are ready to go when the semester officially begins.
